Artist's Note

Human's face is a charming place, particularly the wrinkles can tell the story. It's also the artist's pleasure to observe the details on human face/body. Most of the artworks in this ''Portrait'' collection are realistic style.

Artist's Note

The Japanese traditional art ''Ukiyo-e'' can be translated as ''the picture of the floating world''. Such art style developed in the city of Edo (modern Tokyo) during the Tokugawa or Edo Period (1615-1868). The word ''Ukiyo-e'' also has the sad meaning of referring life as a fleeting moment, which is related to a Buddhist concept. The majority of traditional ''Ukiyo-e'' art reveals the hedonistic lifestyle of emerging merchant class, also expresses the idea of living only for the moment and enjoying daily activities.

Inspired by the traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e culture, Sunny's ''Ukiyo-e Dream'' is a modern monogatari (story). It captures the traditional feel of Japanese prints, yet adding a bit fun twists from modern daily life.

Artist's Note

If classic art is the dawn of human civilization, then the contemporary art is the sunset. It's through such circle, civilization has rejuvenated itself. Perhaps we human beings have never been truly ''modern''.

From time to time, Sunny would love to be ''baptized'' by classic masters, this is one important lesson for her -- Learn From Old Masters, Get Back To The Basics.
