WORK-LIFE BALANCE
Art is a great way for self-healing, so here's a mini guide for making an Impressionist Afternoon Tea Healing session.
The benefits of such Afternoon Tea Time:
• Reduce Stress
• Calming Effects
• Open Savory Experience
• Unlock Your Hidden Artist
• Connect with Classic Soul
How-to:
• First of all, Invest yourself a few sketch books (not apps on iPad or Android), just PAPER. You can choose one to be your food journal, another art journal.
• Book yourself an Afternoon Tea Time, even in your ''modern office''. During this Afternoon Tea Time, you are your most important guest, so you need to treat yourself as an VIP, and don't feel guilty about this.
• Give it a lovely name.
• If you are a real afternoon tea lover, spend a little time to make mini tea sandwiches / finger foods by yourself -- as a ''warm up''. The key is to use your hands, and learn about the art of slowing down.
• When you make food or tea, observe the color / texture, imagine yourself as a sculptor if you like.
• Try to sketch down your hand-made tea / food, with simple lines…
• Based on your own food and drink, you can borrow some ideas from Impressionist's painting, in my example, I drew a virtual cupcake called ''Monet's Water Lilly Cupcake'' as the focus of my sketch (I suck at baking!)
• Also, get some color ideas from Impressionist Artist's artwork. You can also build ''Impressionist Color Palette'', such as:
1. Monet's White
2. Degas' Red
3. Cezanne's Green
4. Vincent van Gogh's Yellow / Blue
5. Renoir's Orange
(This is sample artwork created by me, for your reference!)
Finally, you can sit back, savor your own tea sandwiches, smell the aroma of tea, admire your own art, in this case, the savor journey is completely opened and unlocked. If you like, you can invite a close friend to join in this journey, otherwise, just indulge yourself in such beautiful solitude…
